Anita Riccio-Spagnuolo, wife and mother of two beautiful children, seems to be a Windsor, Ontario household name.  If you have not heard of her, you soon will.  Anita has just transitioned into politics, being recently elected Lasalle, Ontario’s Town Councillor.  Her great name is attached to an excellent long-standing reputation built on years of non-profit and charity work.  Her fantastic ability to create awareness for charitable organizations has given her the experience she will need to speak compassionately for the townspeople of Lasalle.

Anita’s Evolution into the Non-Profit sector and Charitable Organizations

Anita’s background in personal support work and health care predicted her evolution into the non-profit sector with fundraising at heart.  “Fundraising is vital to organizations and charities so we can continue to provide our communities with the utmost care and quality. Fundraising is about giving back, helping others and PAYING IT FORWARD and to continue to do good, positive things for our world,” says Anita.

Anita currently holds fundraising positions with both the Windsor Chapter of the Canadian Mental Association and Harmony In Action. The Canadian Mental Health Association has been part of the health care delivery system of Windsor Essex since 1971. Harmony In Action, since 2012, has enriched the lives for adults living with developmental and/or physical challenges, by providing opportunities to succeed.

Anita is also a long-time volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society and organizer of the Annual Cancer Walk in Amherstburg, Ontario.  Here is a list of Anita’s committee memberships…

Anita’s Transition into Politics

There lies Anita’s transition into politics, as it is the next step in public service for most charity organizers.  It is the place for voices to be heard.  Anita lives in Lasalle and cares about its growth and maintenance.  Her platform includes:

·  Improving main artery roads

·  Study to improve the waterfront and Front Road

·  A focus on bringing family-oriented business attractions

·  Maintenance and improvement of public service

·  Placement of recycling bins in public parks
