YQG Talks, Cultivating with Passion
Did you ever hear a great song, then another, and another and realize that one musician was responsible for all 3 and you instantly had a new favorite band? We’ve all been there, and that is what I think of when I think of Cierra Bray. Cierra is a recent graduate from the St. Clair College Public Relations program, founder CGal Media and a dynamic rising star in the Windsor-Essex business community. Three contacts in one week, through email, Facebook & LinkedIn and she definitely had my attention! I said to myself, “What is this event Cierra has organized?” With a little research, I could see she was definitely onto something special for the Windsor-Essex business community, and as I read more, I learned she was organizing and hosting a local event series called YQG Talks, Windsor’s own variation of the very popular TED talks. I immediately knew I should get involved, and she had asked if I could sponsor the event. It was a no-brainer because half of my sponsorship dollars would assist young, local entrepreneurs, just like her, to open their own businesses and I would get a pair of tickets to attend!
The event took place Wednesday, May 31, 2017, and what an event it was! I was pleasantly surprised that Cierra had connected so quickly with many other veterans of business like myself for her very first event! The speakers who are local businesspeople meshed with young and upcoming entrepreneurial minded people, networking together for amazing results, not only for their own business but for the good of Windsor-Essex in general! This was the business community of today, supporting the business community of tomorrow! Witty, smart and informative personalities… passionate about what they do and about Windsor-Essex…
