Windsor Essex is a family-oriented community. Essex County towns are labeled among the safest in the country by Statistics Canada. Naturally then, WE has responded with a growing number of the world’s top activities amongst kids today! WE really do have it all!
WE kids love Sports!
We are “sports central” at Central park athletics (http://www.centralparkathletics.com/)! It is the city’s most impressive sports complex, housing our local YMCA and state-of-the-art courts for every youth sports clubs.
Some children’s activities in Windsor Essex have certainly been inspired by area adult recreation. For instance, Golf. Seventeen beautifully groomed golf courses are scattered throughout the county, many encouraging youth into junior golf leagues! Mini golf is for children of all ages! On the water miniature golf, (http://www.onthewaterminiaturegolf.com/) is our most picturesque course, designed with waterfalls and animatronics throughout. Combined with On the Green Indoor Golf, (http://onthegreenindoorgolf.com/) and On the Beach Volleyball, (http://www.onthebeachvolleyball.com/), this sport-resort, is a family favourite. Silver tee mini golf, (https://silverteegolf.com/) offers a driving range, indoor simulator golf, and big screen video gaming. Point Pelee Karting (http://www.pointpeleekarting.com/) boasting go-karts as well, and the up and coming Ure’s Country Kitchen, (https://www.facebook.com/UresCountryKitchen/) Gas Bar & Convenience Store will sport their own course soon.
Windsor Rock Gym (http://www.windsorrockgym.com/), Windsor’s only rock climbing facility is for thrill-seeking enthusiasts and serious rock climbers alike. The location also offers bouldering, which is climbing in its most authentic environment, without harnesses. The activities at the complex are available to persons under 18 with a parental signed waiver.
Racing is a thrilling sport and both go-cart hotspots in our area are equally impressive. Visit Warp Drive Race Track (http://www.warpdrive.ca/) and Point Pelee Karting, (http://www.pointpeleekarting.com/) for this speed thrill.
Disc Golf http://www.tecumseh.ca/discgolf is a new offering not seen in Windsor Essex until now.
WE kids love to Escape!
Escape rooms are the newest craze, and we have quite a few! Enigma Escape Room (http://www.enigmawindsor.com/) was the first to open in Windsor Essex. Hidden Trail Escape Room, (http://www.hiddentrail.co/) saw the vision between escapism and fantasy, and combined with The CG Realm, (http://www.thecgrealm.com/) kids can explore new and vintage video games in the Dungeons & Dragons genre. Enjoy a board game with friends then escape into Hidden Trail for an adventure. Hakced VR (https://hakcedvr.com/) is Windsor’s only virtual reality escape room where seated participants, sporting VR headsets, are taken to a higher level of escapism, as everything before their eyes, including their own bodies, are virtually transformed! Mind Over Matter,(http://www.mind-matter.co/) combines puzzles and escape. Ape Escape Windsor, (http://apeescapewindsor.com/) encourages character & team building aspects of this fun activity. Dance has hit such a height of popularity that it has inspired the hit show Dance Moms, or is it the other way around? One thing is for certain, it’s just as competitive as organized sports these days, and the abundance of dance studios in Windsor Essex is a testimony to its demand.
