Who’s ready to have some fun!? We are, and we certainly hope you are locked, loaded, and ready to party. Because in this article, we’re going to take you to some of the best and most popular bars in and around Windsor, Ontario. Before we get into it and plan your next big night out, please remember to ensure you have a sober driver. If you don’t, then catch an Uber or a Lyft; drunk driving isn’t cool. So whether you’re on the hunt for a good spot for your next tinder date meet-up, or you just want to find a chill place to hang out after work, you’re about to get some really good ideas. Sorry, 19 and over from this point only.
Parks and Rec
Parks and Rec is your classic sports and gastro pub, open seven days a week. There are many reasons to love Parks and Rec, from their extensive beer tap collection to a tailored kids menu, an abundance of board games for customers to enjoy during their stay, and so much more!
Parks and Rec love to play games; of course, we’ve mentioned their prized collection of board games available to their patrons for free. But they also host Trivia nights every Tuesday night from 7 to 11. So gather a group of friends and test your knowledge against the locals! Parks and Rec love to play host and often have other fun events like watching parties, kids cooking classes, and live music events. Keep an eye on their website and socials for the most up-to-date event details.
What we would order from Parks and Rec:
Here’s what we suggest; start at one end of the bar and work your way down the row of 20+ beer taps.
Rock Bottom Bar and Grill
Rock Bottom Bar and Grill has been kicking around since 1996 and has become known to the community as a good local watering hole if you’re looking for a good experience free of pretension. Community members come for the wide variety of cold beers on tap and classic, comforting eats like burgers and wings. In fact, they have award-winning wings, voted “The best wings in town” again and again. These wings are available in a wide variety of flavours, from lemon pepper to stupid! You can even request “naked” wings, and they will make you gluten-free wings with your sauce of choice.
What we would order from Rock Bottom Bar and Grill:
We would order a couple of pounds of those award-winning wings with “stupid” sauce… we can’t be the only ones curious about what they taste like. Probably best to have a pint of ice-cold beer on hand, just in case.
Treehouse Bar and Grill
Treehouse Bar and Grill set up camp right in the heart of downtown Windsor back in 2000 when they opened. Because of this, a popping crowd and good times are always waiting at Treehouse Bar and Grill. But their location isn’t the main reason people keep coming back to Treehouse Bar and Grill; they have made a name for themselves by being the most affordable place to eat and drink out in the core of downtown.
They have a deeply loved “nothing over $10 food menu,” including dishes such as fries, mozzarella sticks, wraps, pizzas, salads, poutine, wings, donuts and more!
And their drinks list is even more impressive! The most expensive items on their drinks list are their mini pitchers, for only $8, which come in fun flavours like fuzzy peach and long island. In addition, you can nab drinks deals every single day at Treehouse Bar and Grill, like their bar-well drinks that go for only $3 and shots for only $4.50.
If you want to have a cheap night out and dance the night away to the DJ, there is no better place than Treehouse Bar and Grill.
What we would order from Treehouse Bar and Grill:
A strawberry daiquiri and bacon cheese fries!
Average Joe’s Sports Bar
Average Joe’s Sports Bar is exactly what it sounds like. They’re a “what you see, is what you get” kind of place, which we respect. They’re not concerned with keeping up with the latest passing trends. Instead, they focus on what they do well and nail it and what they know their customers want and need.
At Joe’s, you can expect to see the same local faces; it’s a place where you can turn to the person on either side of you and engage in good conversation with a crisp beer in hand. They say they’re “average,” but really, there’s something special at Average Joe’s. Their welcome atmosphere, large patio, pool table and live music are just a few of the reasons why Average Joe’s is never empty.
What we would order at Average Joe’s:
The Joe Burger and a cold lager.
The Liquid Library
The Liquid Library is made up of four core elements; wings, sports, beer, and friends. And is conveniently located, just blocks away from the Windsor campus. So, if you’re looking for a place in Windsor to catch the next big game, The Liquid Library has an incredible game day atmosphere and even a pool table with a TV above it, so you don’t have to miss a moment. So, pull up a seat, order a refreshing cold beer, and relax, knowing you’re in the company of friends, sports, wings, and, most importantly, beer.
What we would order from The Liquid Library:
Poutine perogies and whatever the bartender recommends!
